Maddie Valley-Design, Art Direction, Ilustration

About Me

I grew up in a small town outside of Dayton, Ohio, the third daughter of two artists. In 2013 I received a BFA in Graphic Design from Ohio University, after which I moved to DC for an internship at NPR. I then interned at Fleishman Hillard before eventually joining Revolution Messaging full-time. There I worked my way up from Junior Designer to Associate Creative Director before leaving in 2018 to join Priorities USA for the end of the election cycle. In 2019 I became the Art Director at Aisle 518, where I have been since. I have since become 518's VP of Creative, and last year I returned to my midwestern roots and relocated to Chicago.

I've worked with a variety of clients, from small businesses to presidential campaigns, but the majority have been political or social justice oriented. This kind of work comes with many limitations, but progressive political art has a powerful history that I am proud to contribute to.

Outside of work I am an artist and a crafter. I currently live in Chicago with my partner and two cats, Bean and Poutine.
