About Me

I grew up in a small town outside of Dayton, Ohio, the third daughter of two artists. In 2013 I received a BFA in Graphic Design from Ohio University, after which I moved to DC for an internship at NPR. My first full-time design job was in 2014 at Revolution Messaging, where I worked my way up from Junior Designer to Associate Creative Director before leaving in 2018 to join Priorities USA. In 2019 I became the Art Director at Aisle 518, eventually becoming VP of Creative. In 2021 I returned to my midwestern roots and relocated to Chicago, and in early 2024 I started my own solo design business, Madval Design LLC.

I've worked with a variety of clients, from small businesses to presidential campaigns, but the majority have been political or social justice oriented. This kind of work comes with many limitations, but progressive political art has a powerful history that I am proud to contribute to.

Outside of work I am an artist, a crafter and an avid reader. I currently live in Chicago with my partner and two cats, Bean and Poutine.
